Founded in 2011 by chefs Chris Carter and James Peisker, Porter Road set out to connect consumers to premium, pasture-raised meat from local farms. Despite their initial plan to open a restaurant, they discovered a gap in the market when they struggled to find a consistent source of quality pasture-raised meat, leading them to start their own whole-animal butcher shop, Porter Road.
